10th BMC & BL Annual Rally, Nene Park, Peterborough
SUNDAY 3RD AUGUST 2003

Every year we've attended this special event the weather's been spot on, and 2003 was no exception with the beginning of another heatwave across the UK. The BMC/BL Rally continues to grow in popularity and attracts BMC and Leyland fans from across the globe, with club members attending from as far away as Edinburgh and many camping the previous night.

Being our 'national event' once again the Maestro & Montego OC stand had almost outgrown the space allocated to it, attracting plenty of attention and pointing of fingers with almost 30 members cars on display! In the usual friendly atmosphere at this show it was pleasing to note a constant stream of visitors throughout the day and nearly all with good things to say rather than the "why?" attitude that might have been expected in the past.

Also refreshing was the sheer variety of vehicles present. It's usually the MG varients that have traditionally dominated at shows, so it was nice to have present among other things several gleaming examples of the very earliest Maestros, not one but two Montego cabriolet conversions (what are the chances of that?) and the ever popular purple & blue custom camper van. Not every car on display was in the best state of bodily repair, but that's not what it's all about.

All in all, a wonderful day and one that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended. Thanks to everyone who came along, joined in and made it that bit more special. Same again next year...
